Approaches to follow for iPhone 5 & 4s iOS 6.1 Jail Break

Overview

The concept of jailbreak is a very important one in relation to iOS devices. It has truly brought a revolution to the use and application of Apple devices in several way and concepts. Jailbreak is simply an act of breaking the limitation posed on Apple devices or any other device in order for it to allow the download and installation of third party applications. This is to say that it is a form of privilege escalation.iOS producers place restriction on Apple devices in such a way that you cannot install any application to them other than the ones approved by the producer. The applications approved by Apple to use in iOS devices are those available in iTunes stores. Apple makes lots of money from these applications and therefore would not permit the interference of a third party. However, not only iOS devices but also other mobile devices can be jailbreak.

Different jailbreak approaches

There are three categories of jailbreak and each one of them has its own advantage; these will be discussed in this article. The categories of jailbreak that exist are:

–          Untethered Jailbreak

–          Semi untethered jailbreak and

–          Tethered jailbreak.

These will however be discussed categorically.

When an Apple device is booted, the first thing that happens is that the kernel is loaded. Kernel is the core or central part of the operating system that performs memory and many other important functions. In order to jailbreak iPhone, you simply have to patch the kernel. Once the kernel remains patch, the iPhone remains jail broken.

Untethered Jailbreak

Untethered Jailbreak is basically the best form of jailbreak for iOS devices. This simply means that you can jailbreak your iPhone device and use it the way you want without being worried about shutting it down or otherwise. When you jailbreak using the untethered method, you do not need to repeat the process even if your device goes down. Untethered jailbreak is therefore the best jailbreak approach for iPhone 5 & 4s iOS 6.1 and so on. When iPhone 5 & 4 iOS 6.0, 6.1 is jailbroken this way, the kernel does not need to be repatch to achieve better result.

Semi untethered Jailbreak

Semi untethered jailbreak stands in the middle better untethered and tethered jailbreak in advantages. When you jailbreak with semi untethered method, you need to be careful with rebooting the device. On rebooting the device, your iPhone reverts to the way it was before it was jailbroken. The original unpatch kernel is loaded and the jailbreak is removed.

Tethered Jailbreak

Tethered Jailbreak ranks lowest in terms of advantages when compared with other forms of jailbreak. Just like the untethered jailbreak, tethered jailbreak loads the original upatch kernel of your iOS device when rebooted. In the actual sense, you need to rejailbreak in order to maintain the privilege escalation. However, the difference between the semi untethered and the tethered jailbreak is that when you reboot in tethered jailbreak, the device not only reloads original kernel but also hangs on the way. Both the tethered and the semi untethered jailbreak are not used for iPhone 5 & 4s iOS 6.1 Jailbreak.
