Best Android Karbonn S1 Titanium Phone

With the launch of the Micromax Canvas HD, quad-core processors have started gearing up the mobile market as lot of mobile-making companies are introducing quad-core processors on lower budget smart phones. The Karbonn S1 Titanium is one such phone.

Since it has a 4.5 inch screen, you cannot call it a phablet. Even though, this phone from Karbonn seems to be a fabulous smart phone that promises to make no compromise on performance under a budget price tag. Yeah, it’s true. You will be amazed to see all those amazing features without running out of the budget. Karbonn S1 Titanium price absolutely goes well with your personality and needs. It will cost you around Rs. 10,990 only. Now lets have a look on Karbonn S1 Titanium review.


Design and Display
The Karbonn S1 Titanium is a common looking phone having the usual rectangular shape with rounded corners. The front of the phone features 4.5 inch qHD display, four capacitive touch buttons for navigation and the front camera with proximity sensor and the earpiece. There’s a grey, metal-finished frame on the sides of the phone. The volume button is located at the right side on the frame whereas, the the 3.5mm headset jack and Power or Screen lock key sits at the top. The phone has a removable, plastic back cover with glossy finish for battery or SIM replacement. The rear camera is accompanied with a flash at the top of the device. There are two SIM card slots and s microSD slot placed just above the battery compartment.

As far as the display is concerned, S1 Titanium has a 4.5inch qHD IPS screen with the resolution of 540×960 pixels and pixel density of 240ppi, which is decent enough for the text and graphics to appear sharp.

Software and Interface
The Karbonn S1 Titanium runs Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean operating system. There are five customize home screens that can be filled with widgets and app shortcuts. As already mentioned, the phone has four capacitive touch buttons for Home, Menu, Back and Search. Android 4.1 Jelly Bean also has a feature of Google Now. It’s an extension of Google search and works as a voice-based information assistant. You can ask questions and the tool will return answers or search results for the same.

This phone features 5 MP rear facing camera with auto-focus & flash that allows clear photography. It also has a front camera for video calling and video chatting using third-party app like Skype, etc.

With Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean, the overall experience of navigation through the user-friendly interface is impressive. It offers smooth and fast navigation while playing games, launching apps, switching between apps or scrolling web pages. Performance wise, the S1 Titanium beats other dual-core processor phones within this price range. You will find it hard to play full HD clips, but the phone supports formats like .AVI, etc. The speaker of the phone fails to deliver high sound quality, as the speaker is placed on the back. However, the call quality is good.

Battery and memory
S1 Titanium comes with 1600 mAh battery which provides up to four hours of talk time and around 200 hours of standby time. The interesting thing is that you can download Task Killer from Google Play that will kill all the unwanted apps running on the background and thus will help improving the battery backup. Apart from this, the phone comes with 4GB of internal memory along with 32GB external memory card.

The phone doesn’t offer the feature of FM Radio, which is quite strange as compared to already existing other budget Android phones.

All-in-all Karbonn S1 Titanium is a nice smart phone option with decent performance and excellent features that too in a budget price tag as compared to other Karbonn mobile price.
