Gridwall or Slatwall?

When it comes to fitting out a shop there are a whole range of products available to purchase to help you to display your products.

If you are looking for a metal display then look no further.  The Gridwall display is an amazing item.  It is a handy device, as not only does it allows you to show your products on the walls there are a whole variety of free-standing ground displays to select.

The system itself is built around Gridwall panels.  These panels can either be wall mounted or used with legs and gondola bases. They come in a shiny chrome finish and are manufactured from high quality steel and are available to purchase in a variety of different sizes ranging from 4 feet to 8 feet long.images

Regardless of whether you opt for a wall mounted system or a free standing display there are also a whole range of Gridwall accessories available to complement your display ranging from arms and rails suitable for hanging clothing to hooks and shelves.  If you decide to go with a free standing display you will of course also need to order a base.  Again there are several different options available to you.  You can either buy a pair of legs that enables a single panel to stand upright on its own or purchase a Gondola style type base.

If however you prefer a wooden effect display system then why not consider Slatwall instead.  Slatwall panels are designed to be mounted directly onto the wall and are available in both plain colours and wood grain finishes.  The most commonly purchased size panel is 1200 x 1200mm (4 feet by 4 feet).  These panels have 12 slots each spaced 100mm (4 inches) apart and are easier to install if you are fitting them yourself.  The panels weigh 18kg each and you will require half a pack of the corresponding inserts in order to fit them.

Slatwall panels are also available in 2400 x 1200 (8 feet by 4 feet).  If you are looking to cover a larger area this size is obviously a better option as you will need less panels overall.  It is worth bearing in mind though that they do obviously weigh significantly more at 38kg each.  This size panel does however allude to it being used either vertically or horizontally making it a more flexible option.  You can either use them as “Portrait” meaning that you will have 23 slots each one spaced 100mm apart or as “Landscape” which will provide you with 12 slots along the width with each one 2400mm long.  Regardless of which orientation you choose you will need to purchase one pack of the corresponding inserts for each panel.

Like with the Gridwall display system there are a range of accessories available to complement your Slatwall display system.  You can stick with the wooden effect and select wooden shelving or you can incorporate some metal by selecting some metal hooks and accessories.
